Садиба Файна Гофа is a real gem in Verkhovyna if you’re looking for an authentic Hutsul experience without unnecessary pomp. This three-star hotel is located at 25 Hrushevskoho Street, and while the name might seem a bit unusual, the atmosphere here is truly wonderful. I stayed here last autumn when the Carpathian foliage was particularly beautiful, and I was very satisfied.
The rooms are simple but cozy — wooden furniture, traditional rugs, everything clean and tidy. The owners are very welcoming and always ready to advise where to go hiking in the mountains or where to try the best Hutsul cuisine (by the way, breakfasts here are decent, especially the homemade cheeses). There’s parking right at the hotel, which is convenient if you came by car — in downtown Verkhovyna this isn’t always easy to find. Wi-Fi works reliably, which was a pleasant surprise.
The only thing to keep in mind — the walls aren’t the thickest, so if neighbors are active, it might be a bit noisy. But this is more the exception than the rule. In winter it’s especially cozy here — the fireplace in the lobby creates a real mountain atmosphere. For this price and location (about ten minutes’ walk to the ski lift) it’s an excellent choice for those who want to experience the real Carpathians without paying extra for luxury.
