Чорногора

Чорногора turned out to be a pleasant surprise during our trip to the Carpathians! This three-star hotel is located right in the center of Vorokhta on Khmelnytsky Street — very convenient, as it’s literally a five-minute walk to the train station. Parking is free (big plus!), though there aren’t that many spots, so it’s better not to arrive too late. Check-in went smoothly, staff is friendly and ready to help with mountain routes. The rooms are quite spacious, especially considering this is a mountain hotel — we had a wonderful view of the slopes, furniture is a bit dated but everything is clean and tidy.

Breakfasts here are homemade — real Carpathian dishes, not some faceless buffet. Meat, cheeses, homemade bread, jam — everything tasty and filling before a hike. The hotel operates year-round, but it’s especially cozy in winter thanks to the wooden elements in the interior and fireplaces in the lobby. The only downside — walls aren’t very thick, so if neighbors are noisy, you might hear conversations. But that’s more the exception than the rule. It’s about an hour’s drive to Bukovel ski lifts, but for hiking it’s an ideal location — many trails start right from Vorokhta. For this price and with an 8.0 rating — definitely recommend, especially if you’re looking for an authentic mountain experience without unnecessary pretensions.
