They do proper Romanian breakfast items alongside the usual suspects, and the coffee is actually drinkable. Plus, you’re walking distance from the salt mine if that’s your thing, but more importantly, you’re positioned perfectly for exploring the broader Harghita area without dealing with the tourist crowds in the bigger resort towns. The owners genuinely know the area and will point you toward hiking trails or local restaurants that aren’t trying to fleece visitors. It’s that kind of local knowledge you can’t Google – like which thermal baths are worth the drive and which ones are tourist traps. The whole experience feels authentic in a way that’s getting harder to find, especially at this price point. Sure, it’s not luxury, but it’s exactly what a good 3-star guesthouse should be: comfortable, welcoming, and run by people who take pride in their work.
