The building itself has this understated charm that doesn’t try too hard, if that makes sense. No flashy lobby or over-the-top anything, just solid comfort with character. What really got me was how quiet it gets in the evenings – you’re far enough from any main roads that you actually hear birds instead of traffic, which is pretty rare these days.

The staff clearly knows the area inside and out, and they’ll point you toward hiking trails that aren’t on any tourist maps. Parking was straightforward, no weird cramped spaces or confusing layouts, and check-in was refreshingly human – actual conversation instead of robotic efficiency. The rooms have this cozy, lived-in quality without feeling worn down, and the beds are legitimately comfortable, not just hotel-marketing comfortable. One small thing that impressed me was how they handle the natural lighting – lots of windows positioned to make the most of that forest setting. Sure, if you’re looking for nightlife or fancy restaurants within walking distance, this isn’t your spot, but that’s completely missing the point. This is where you go when you want to remember what it feels like to actually relax, to hear yourself think, to wake up somewhere that doesn’t sound like the city. The location might seem random on a map, but once you’re there, it feels intentional – like they found the perfect spot and built something worthy of it.
