Zatin

Zatin turned out to be a real find during our trip to the Carpathians — a three-star hotel located right on Svobody Street in Yaremche. When we arrived late in the evening after a long drive from Kyiv, the staff was still waiting for us with smiles, even though check-in officially ended at 10 PM. Parking is a separate story: there’s a small lot near the hotel, but in summer it’s better to arrive early because there are never enough spaces (we parked on a neighboring street, no big deal). The rooms are quite cozy, though a bit old-fashioned — furniture from the 90s, but everything is clean and works. What impressed me most was the view from the third-floor window: the morning Carpathians in fog are simply incredible, especially in autumn.

The breakfasts here are homemade, not a buffet — the hostesses prepare borscht, potato dumplings with sour cream, fresh cheese pancakes. For an additional fee (about 150 hryvnias) you can order dinner — I recommend banosh with mushrooms, it’s something special. The hotel is located in the center of Yaremche, so it’s a 15-minute walk to Probiy waterfall, and even closer to the cable car. The only downside — the walls are thin, so if neighbors are noisy, it can be a bit loud (especially on weekends when big groups arrive). In winter it’s warm here — the heating works well, but hot water is sometimes only available in the morning and evening. For this price (around 800 hryvnias per night) it’s a wonderful option for a family vacation, especially if you plan to spend more time outdoors rather than in the room.
