Just got back from Zahar Berkut in Slavske, and I have to say — it was a pleasant surprise! The hotel is located right on Bohdan Khmelnytsky Street, literally in the center of everything. When I arrived in winter (it was my first ski trip to Slavske), I immediately understood why this place is so popular among skiers. From the hotel to the ski lifts — 10 minutes on foot, maximum. Free parking right next to the building, which is very convenient, especially when you’re carrying ski equipment.
The hotel itself is three-star, but honestly, it looks better than its category. The rooms are clean, with new plumbing — I expected worse for this price. The staff is friendly, though sometimes there are queues at reception during the season (that’s January-February and December). Breakfasts are decent — nothing special, but filling. There’s a restaurant on the ground floor where you can have dinner after skiing without going outside. Wi-Fi works stable even in rooms on the upper floors.
What I particularly liked was the atmosphere. The hotel doesn’t pretend to be luxurious, but it’s cozy and homey. In the evenings, guests often gather in the lobby, discussing slopes and sharing experiences. The owners clearly know what they’re doing — everything is designed with skiers and tourists in mind. The only downside: the walls are a bit thin, so if neighbors are noisy, it can be uncomfortable. But that’s more of an exception. The 8.0 out of 10 rating — well deserved. I’ll come back here again, especially considering the price-quality ratio.
