The building has this authentic mountain lodge vibe that doesn’t feel forced or touristy, which is refreshing in Zakopane where half the places are trying way too hard to be “traditionally Polish.”

The spa situation is actually pretty solid – and I say this as someone who’s been to plenty of overpriced hotel spas that are basically just a sauna and some candles. Here, you can genuinely unwind after hiking in the Tatras (which, let’s be real, is why most people end up in Zakopane anyway). The location works really well if you want to be close to the action without being right in the middle of Krupówki street chaos – you can walk to the main pedestrian area in about 10 minutes, but you’re far enough away that you won’t hear drunk tourists singing at 2 AM. Parking was straightforward too, which honestly surprised me because finding a decent parking spot in Zakopane can be a nightmare, especially during peak season.

What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to actually know the area. When I asked about hiking trails, the receptionist didn’t just hand me a generic brochure – she asked what level I was looking for and gave me specific recommendations based on the weather that week. The rooms themselves are comfortable without being fancy, and the breakfast had enough variety to fuel a proper mountain day. Sure, it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury touches, but it delivers on what matters: a good night’s sleep, hot water that actually stays hot, and that mountain air feeling when you open the windows in the morning. If you’re the type who needs a pool or 24-hour room service, this probably isn’t your place. But if you want somewhere that feels authentic to the region and gives you a solid base for exploring the Tatras without breaking the bank, Willa Regina II actually gets it right.
