The village has these walking trails that locals use – nothing fancy, just peaceful paths through the woods where you might spot deer if you’re quiet enough. And here’s a local tip the owners shared: there’s this little family-run restaurant about a 5-minute walk away that serves the best pierogi in the region, but it’s only open Friday through Sunday and they don’t advertise anywhere. That’s the kind of insider knowledge you get when you stay somewhere like Willa Matylda – it’s not just accommodation, it’s like having a local friend who wants to show you their favorite hidden spots. The drive to Karpacz center takes maybe 10 minutes, parking is never an issue (trust me, this matters in mountain towns), and you get to come back each evening to actual peace and quiet instead of tourist crowds.
