You know what really struck me about Willa Dziubas? It’s one of those places that doesn’t try too hard to impress you with fancy lobbies or marble everything, but somehow ends up being exactly what you needed. I mean, when you’re tucked away in Małe Ciche – and honestly, if you blink driving through this tiny mountain village, you’ll miss it – the last thing you expect is to find a place with both a jacuzzi and sauna waiting for you after a long day hiking the Tatras.
The location is actually pretty brilliant once you get your bearings. Sure, you’re not walking to restaurants or shops (there really aren’t any right there), but that’s kind of the point. You’re about fifteen minutes from Zakopane if you need the tourist buzz, but far enough out that you’ll actually hear birds in the morning instead of tour buses. The owner clearly knows this area well – they’ve got those local hiking maps that show trails most visitors never discover, and they’re genuinely helpful about timing your trips to avoid the weekend crowds. What I loved most though was coming back muddy and tired from scrambling around the peaks, then just sinking into that jacuzzi while looking out at the mountains. The sauna’s small but does the job perfectly, and there’s something almost meditative about the whole routine – hike, soak, sweat, repeat.
The rooms themselves are clean and comfortable without being fussy. I stayed there in late September when the weather was getting unpredictable, and the heating worked great (you’d be surprised how many mountain places get this wrong). Parking’s easy right outside, which matters when you’re hauling hiking gear around. The breakfast was simple but filling – fresh bread, local cheese, proper coffee. Nothing Instagram-worthy, but honestly refreshing after staying at places that serve elaborate spreads that somehow leave you hungry an hour later. If I had to nitpick, the Wi-Fi can be spotty when it’s stormy, but let’s be real – if you’re checking emails constantly in a place like this, you’re missing the point. The whole experience feels like staying at a friend’s mountain house, if that friend happened to install a really nice jacuzzi and knows all the best trails. That 9 rating makes perfect sense to me; it’s not luxury, but it’s exactly what this kind of getaway should be.
