HOTEL OVERVIEW

You know what struck me first about Willa Baśka? It’s tucked away on Cyrhla street in this quiet residential pocket of Zakopane where you actually hear birds in the morning instead of tour buses rumbling past. I mean, you’re still close enough to walk to Krupówki in about ten minutes, but honestly, the location feels more like staying at your Polish grandmother’s house than some generic tourist spot.

The thing about this place – and I stayed here twice last year, so I’m not just talking out of my hat – is that it punches way above its three-star rating. The owners clearly get that travelers want authentic mountain lodge vibes without the pretentious boutique hotel prices. My room had these heavy wooden beams and traditional Góral textiles that felt genuine, not like some designer’s idea of “rustic Polish charm.” The bathroom was actually modern though (thank god), with proper water pressure and heating that works even when it’s freezing outside. And speaking of cold – the place stays surprisingly warm in winter, which matters when you’re coming back from a day on Kasprowy Wierch with frozen toes.

What really sold me was the breakfast situation. They serve it in this cozy common room with mountain views, and it’s proper Polish breakfast stuff – fresh bread, local cheeses, actual honey from somewhere nearby. The coffee’s decent too, not that watered-down hotel nonsense. The staff speaks English well enough, but they’re not overly chatty if you’re one of those people who needs quiet in the morning. Parking’s included and actually available, which is honestly half the battle in Zakopane during peak season. I was there in August when the town’s absolutely packed, and while you could hear some evening chatter from other guests, it quieted down by 10 PM or so. The whole place has maybe 15 rooms total, so it never feels like a zoo. Check-in was smooth both times – they’re flexible if your train from Kraków runs late, which happens more often than you’d think. Look, it’s not going to wow you with fancy amenities or Instagram-worthy lobbies, but if you want a clean, comfortable base for exploring the Tatras without paying resort prices, this hits the sweet spot perfectly.

I couldn't believe I got a great room with amazing views at such an affordable price. The views were stunning both during the day and at night. Especially when the sky is clear u can see the stars with almost zero light pollution. The communal areas were spacious and beautifully decorated as well. I just loved every corner of this villa 🥹

View from the balcony is wonderful, from Gubalowka to Kasprowy. Quiet and peaceful. End of December, real Christmas feeling. Kitchen, dining room and lounge on a separate floor. Very close to Zakopane, car or bus. We will definitely come back!

It wasn't the first time we were in Zakopane and it probably won't be the last either, because there are many good accommodations here, and this one is especially great. This is a huge wooden house with 5-6 apartments. The bed is super comfortable, the heating is pleasantly warm, the bathroom is very nice and clean, the living room is huge for 2 people. The equipment is sophisticated, everything is nice and clean. The apartment has a huge terrace overlooking the mountains, we loved it. There is a private parking lot right in front of the house.

This house has a lot of atmosphere. The view from the terrace is breathtaking and it's spacious enough for every guest to have his own space thanks to the huge kitchen and big living room. The bedroom is cosy and the bathroom spotless clean.

The place is amazing. So cozy like in fairy tale. Little bit outside main part of Zakopane but this is huge plus. Very cool design, parking is there. Harenda ski area just 5-8 minutes by car. Beautiful views from the balcony! Can’t beat it. WiFi was great you can do work
