You know what struck me first about Willa Anna? It’s tucked away on this quiet little street – ul. Strażacka – that honestly feels like stepping into old-world Karpacz before all the tourist development took over. I mean, you’re still right in the heart of things, but there’s something almost secretive about finding this place. The building itself has that classic mountain villa charm that actually feels authentic, not like those cookie-cutter “alpine style” hotels you see everywhere now.
What really got me was how the owners – and I’m pretty sure they live on-site – seem to genuinely care about the details that matter. The rooms are clean in that obsessive Polish way (you’ll know what I mean when you see the bathroom), and honestly, the beds are surprisingly comfortable for a smaller property. I stayed during late spring when Karpacz gets busy with hikers heading to Śnieżka, but the street stays pretty quiet at night. There’s decent parking too, which – let me tell you – is not something you can take for granted around here, especially during peak season when everyone’s fighting for spots near the main drag.
The location is actually perfect if you want to explore properly. You’re close enough to walk to the funicular station and all the main trails, but far enough from the chaos around the market square that you can actually sleep. I loved being able to grab coffee and pastries from that little bakery just a few streets over in the morning, then head straight out for hiking without dealing with crowds. The staff gave me some solid local recommendations too – places that weren’t just the obvious tourist spots. They pointed me toward this incredible trail that connects to the Czech side that I never would have found otherwise. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying with people who actually live in the mountains, not just working in hospitality. The 8.7 rating makes total sense when you experience that level of personal attention combined with the perfect balance of being central but peaceful.
