I mean, Karpacz gets plenty of visitors heading to Śnieżka or the Wang Church, but most people rush through without noticing gems like this tucked away on the quieter residential streets.

The location is honestly perfect if you want to experience Karpacz like locals do rather than just ticking off tourist boxes. Gimnazjalna runs parallel to the main drag, so you’re maybe a three-minute walk from all the restaurants and cable car stations, but when you come back in the evening, it’s this peaceful tree-lined street where you can actually hear birds instead of tour buses. The owners – and I’m pretty sure they live on-site – clearly put serious thought into preserving the original character while making everything work for modern travelers. The rooms have this authentic mountain villa feel with original hardwood floors that creak just enough to remind you you’re in a century-old building, but the bathrooms are completely updated and the WiFi actually works (which, let’s be honest, isn’t always guaranteed in these historic places).

What really sold me on this place was the breakfast situation. They serve it in what used to be the original dining room, with these tall windows looking out toward the Karkonosze peaks, and the whole setup feels more like you’re staying with well-traveled relatives than checking into a hotel. The spread changes based on what’s seasonal and local – I had some of the best regional cheese and honey I’ve tried in the Sudetes. Plus, that 9.6 rating isn’t just from people being polite; the attention to detail shows everywhere, from how quietly the doors close to the way they’ve managed to fit modern heating into rooms without ruining the period features. Parking can get tight during peak hiking season (July and August especially), but there’s usually space on the street or they’ll point you toward a spot nearby. If you’re the type who appreciates staying somewhere with actual character instead of those generic mountain hotels that could be anywhere from Colorado to the Alps, Willa 1910 gets it right – historic charm that doesn’t sacrifice comfort, perfectly positioned for exploring Karpacz without being in the middle of the tourist chaos.
