Vysoké Tatry apartmán 309 – Tatranská Lomnica – výhľad na Tatry

Look, I’ve stayed in my fair share of mountain apartments, but this place in Tatranská Lomnica actually surprised me – and I mean that in the best way possible. Apartment 309 sits right in the heart of this little Slovak resort town, and honestly, the view from the windows is exactly what you’re hoping for when you book something with “výhľad na Tatry” in the name. You wake up and there are the High Tatras just… there, dominating the skyline like some massive postcard that never gets old.

What I really appreciated was how the place feels lived-in rather than sterile – you know what I mean? It’s not one of those apartments where you’re afraid to touch anything. The kitchen actually has proper coffee cups (not those tiny hotel ones), and there’s enough space to spread out your hiking gear without tripping over everything. The location is pretty much perfect if you’re planning to explore the area – you’re walking distance from the funicular that takes you up to Skalnaté pleso, which saves you the headache of driving up those winding mountain roads with all the tour buses. Plus, there’s decent parking right nearby, which anyone who’s driven around Slovak mountain towns will tell you is worth its weight in gold.

I’ll be straight with you though – this isn’t some luxury resort situation. It’s a proper apartment that happens to have incredible views and sits in one of the best spots in the Tatras. The building itself is pretty typical for the area, nothing fancy, but apartment 309 has been kept up well and everything works like it should. What really sold me was stepping out onto that balcony in the morning with my coffee and watching the light hit those peaks – it’s the kind of moment that makes you remember why you travel in the first place. The town gets busy during peak season (especially weekends), but early mornings and evenings are beautifully quiet, just the sound of the Studený potok creek running nearby. If you’re the type who needs to be in walking distance of good restaurants and the cable car station but also wants to actually see the mountains you came for, this spot hits that sweet spot perfectly.
