Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first pulled up to VisitZakopane – Nosal Apartment on Jaszczurówka-Bory street. The name’s a bit of a mouthful, but the location? Actually perfect if you know Zakopane at all. You’re tucked away from the main tourist chaos on Krupówki street – I mean, don’t get me wrong, you’ll want to hit that pedestrian strip for the highland cheese and folk music, but it’s nice to escape to somewhere quieter at the end of the day.

What really struck me about this place is how it gets the balance right between being close enough to everything but far enough to actually sleep at night. The Jaszczurówka area has this sort of residential feel – you’ll hear birds in the morning instead of tour buses revving up, which honestly made such a difference. The apartment itself has that clean, mountain lodge vibe without trying too hard. Nothing fancy, but everything you need is there and it actually works (you know how apartment rentals can be sometimes). The views toward the Tatras are solid too, especially if you snag a unit facing south – on clear mornings you can see Giewont and the whole ridge line while having your coffee.

Here’s what I really appreciated though – the owners clearly know their stuff about what travelers actually need. There’s decent parking, which anyone who’s tried to find a spot in central Zakopane during ski season will tell you is basically gold. The kitchen is properly stocked, not just two forks and a broken can opener like some places. And the location means you’re maybe a 15-minute walk to the main action, but also close to some of the better hiking trailheads if that’s your thing. The Nosal area (hence the name) gives you quick access to some lesser-known trails that the day-trippers from Krakow usually miss. I’d definitely stay here again – it’s one of those places that just works without any drama, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want when you’re trying to actually enjoy the mountains instead of dealing with accommodation headaches.
