You know what really caught me off guard about this place? I walked up to Tuwima 3 expecting just another basic apartment rental, but honestly, the Nepal Apartment feels like someone’s cool mountain retreat that they decided to share with travelers. The building itself is pretty unassuming from the street – I actually walked past it the first time – but once you’re inside, there’s this cozy, lived-in vibe that makes you want to kick off your boots and stay awhile.

The location is honestly perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in Zakopane rather than just visiting it. Tuwima Street is one of those quiet residential roads where you’ll hear more Polish conversations than tourist chatter, which I loved. You’re maybe a seven-minute walk to Krupówki (the main pedestrian street where all the chaos happens), but far enough away that you won’t hear drunk tourists stumbling home at 2 AM. There’s a little grocery store literally around the corner – I mean, you could probably throw a snowball and hit it – which saved me so many times when I needed coffee or forgot to grab dinner. The apartment itself has that mountain cabin feel without being overly rustic, if that makes sense. The kitchen actually works (shocking, I know), and there’s enough space to spread out your hiking gear without tripping over everything. What really impressed me was the attention to small details – good lighting for reading, decent Wi-Fi that didn’t cut out during video calls, and windows that actually keep the cold out during those brutal Tatra winter nights.

I stayed here during shoulder season in October, and honestly, it was perfect timing. The apartment gets pretty good natural light during the day, and in the evenings you can see the mountains from one of the windows if you crane your neck a bit. The check-in was surprisingly smooth – none of that awkward “meet me at the coffee shop with the red sign” nonsense. Parking can be a little tricky on the street, but there’s usually something within a block or two. The only minor thing I’d mention is that the building can be a bit echo-y, so if you’re a super light sleeper, bring earplugs. But honestly, for a 3-star place with a 9 rating, it delivers exactly what it promises. It’s not trying to be fancy, it’s just trying to be a comfortable base for exploring the Tatras, and it nails that completely. I’d definitely book it again, especially if I was planning to spend serious time hiking rather than just doing the tourist circuit.
