The address might look intimidating if you don’t speak Polish, but Szymaszkowa is actually this quiet residential street that’s maybe a 12-minute walk from Krupówki – close enough that you can easily pop into town for dinner, but far enough that you won’t hear drunk tourists singing at 2 AM.

The apartment itself feels like someone’s stylish mountain retreat rather than a typical rental. I mean, the deer theme could’ve gone cheesy real fast, but they kept it subtle and sophisticated. The living space has these gorgeous mountain views – you know what I love? In the morning, you can see the mist rolling off the Tatras while you’re having coffee, and it never gets old. The kitchen is actually functional too (shocking, I know), with proper equipment if you want to cook. The hosts clearly thought about what people need – there’s good WiFi, the heating works properly (crucial in Zakopane winters), and honestly, the bed is comfortable enough that I slept better here than at some five-star places.

What really sets this place apart is the location knowledge you get. The hosts genuinely know Zakopane – not just the touristy bits. They’ll point you toward the hiking trails that locals use, the restaurant where you won’t pay tourist prices, stuff like that. Parking can be a bit tricky on Szymaszkowa during peak season (July and August get absolutely mad), but there’s usually space if you’re not arriving at prime check-in time on weekends. The neighborhood itself is wonderfully quiet – you’ll hear birds instead of car horns, which is exactly what you want after a day hiking Morskie Oko or dealing with the Krupówki crowds. I stayed here in both summer and winter, and honestly, winter might be even better – there’s something magical about being tucked away in this cozy spot while snow blankets everything outside. The 9 rating isn’t inflated marketing nonsense; it’s what happens when someone actually cares about creating a space that feels like home, just with better views.
