Villagoria

Villagoria turned out to be a real gem in Slavske — I genuinely didn’t expect this level of service from a four-star hotel in the Carpathians! Located on Taras Shevchenko Street, the hotel is literally just a few minutes’ walk from the ski lifts, which is incredibly convenient in winter. Parking is free (a real rarity for the town center), though spots can get scarce in winter — better to arrive before evening. Check-in was quick, and the staff speaks both Ukrainian and English, which was a pleasant surprise.

The rooms really impress — modern renovation, wooden accents that fit perfectly with the mountain style, and most importantly — very quiet even on the street side. The bathroom is spacious, hot water is constant (which can be an issue at mountain hotels), and there’s even a decent hair dryer. WiFi works reliably even on upper floors, speeds are perfectly adequate for video calls. I especially loved the view from the window — real Carpathian mountains, not some sheds or parking lots like you get at other places.

Breakfast is served until 10:30 (they don’t rush you out at 10:00 like many hotels do), the selection is adequate — there’s both traditional Ukrainian cuisine and European dishes. The coffee is real, not instant — that was important for me after long hikes. It’s wonderful here in summer too — you can walk to waterfalls on foot, then return to a comfortable air-conditioned room in the evening. The staff will help organize excursions and even give you trail maps for free. For the money (especially in off-season), this is really a great deal.
