Вилла Zlata turned out to be a real gem during my winter trip to Bukovel. This cozy three-star villa is located on Podyna Street, and while the address might sound official, it’s actually a very homey place. When I arrived in January, the hosts greeted me with hot tea — after the long drive, it was exactly what I needed. Parking is free right next to the house, which is especially convenient when you’re hauling skis and all that winter gear.
The rooms at Вилла Zlata are small but thoughtfully designed. I had a room with mountain views — in the morning you open the curtains and there’s this incredible panorama of snow-covered slopes. The kitchen is shared, but that’s not a problem; actually, I met other guests there and we cooked dinner together after days on the slopes. WiFi works well (checked work emails), hot water is always available, and the heating is powerful — important during February frosts. One thing though: the walls aren’t super thick, so if neighbors return late from après-ski, you can hear conversations.
It’s about a 10-15 minute walk to the lifts, but the path is pleasant, especially in the morning when snow crunches under your feet. The hosts gave me a map with marked cafes and shops nearby — turned out very useful. In summer, as locals told me, it’s wonderful for hiking, and the villa’s terrace offers views of green meadows. The price is reasonable for Bukovel, especially considering breakfast is included (homemade pastries are simply outstanding). I’ll definitely return here, maybe in autumn when the Carpathian forests turn golden.
