Villa Opir turned out to be a pleasant surprise in the village of Дубина near Skole. This three-star hotel is located right on the riverbank — from my room window I could see the water and mountains all around. The owners are very welcoming, they met us personally and showed us around the property. Parking is free right by the hotel, which is convenient since you don’t have to drag your luggage far.
The room was clean and cozy, with everything needed — good bathroom, comfortable bed, Wi-Fi available (though it sometimes lags, but that’s normal in the mountains). Breakfasts are homemade and delicious — borscht, cheese pancakes, fresh bread. The hostess cooks herself, you can feel the care. In the evening you can sit on the terrace by the river — very peaceful, just the sound of flowing water. The only downside — walls aren’t very thick, so you can hear neighbors, but it didn’t particularly bother us.
The place is perfect for those who come to the Carpathians for peace and nature, not for entertainment. It’s 10 minutes to Skole by car, not far to the ski lifts either. In winter it’s probably even more beautiful — forest and mountains all around. The hosts know all the hiking routes in the area and gladly share where to go for walks. For the money — a wonderful place, we’d come back again.
Carpathian hotels showcase the perfect blend of mountain hospitality and modern comfort, with many offering wellness services and genuine Carpathian cultural experiences.
