Вілла Олекси is a cozy three-star hotel that I discovered during my recent trip to Skhidnitsa. Located on Ivan Franko Street, it’s just a few minutes’ walk from the resort center, which is very convenient for strolls to the mineral water pump room. The owners are very welcoming people — they met me personally and told me about all the interesting places in the area. Parking is free (which is rare in resort towns!), though there aren’t that many spots, so it’s better to arrive by evening.
The rooms are quite comfortable, especially for a hotel of this class in a small mountain town. I had a double room with a private bathroom — everything was clean, bed linens fresh. The windows faced a quiet courtyard, so it was peaceful at night, though in the morning you could sometimes hear breakfast being prepared in the kitchen (it’s rather charming than annoying). Wi-Fi works well even on the second floor. Breakfasts are homemade — classic Ukrainian cuisine, nothing fancy, but tasty and filling. The hostess cooks herself and always asks if everything is to your liking.
What I particularly liked was the atmosphere of a real family hotel, not some faceless commercial establishment. Here they know each guest by name, can recommend the best route for mountain hiking or tell you when it’s better to go to the pump room (fewer queues in the morning). The location is perfect — 5-7 minutes at a leisurely pace to the main mineral water sources, and close to the bus stop too. In winter it’s especially cozy here, in summer it’s pleasant to sit in the courtyard in the evening. For this price and with an 8.0 rating — quite an honest choice for Skhidnitsa.
