You know what struck me first about Vila Kollár – Jedlička? It’s tucked into this perfect spot in Dolný Smokovec where you can actually hear the mountain streams running nearby, but you’re not dealing with the chaos of the main tourist strip. I mean, you’re still close enough to walk to everything – the cable car station, decent restaurants, those little shops selling overpriced hiking gear – but honestly, the location feels more like a local secret than a typical hotel placement. The building itself has this understated elegance that doesn’t scream “look at me” like some of the flashier places around the High Tatras. It’s sort of refreshing, actually.
What really won me over was how the staff seemed to genuinely know the area, not just the scripted tourist answers you usually get. When I asked about hiking trails, the guy at reception didn’t just hand me a generic map – he actually sketched out a route that avoided the weekend crowds and pointed out where to stop for the best views of Lomnický štít. The rooms themselves strike this nice balance between mountain lodge charm and actual comfort (you know how some “authentic” places can be pretty but uncomfortable). I slept surprisingly well considering I’m usually sensitive to noise, and the morning light filtering through those traditional-style windows was honestly perfect for coffee on the little balcony. The whole place has this lived-in quality that suggests the owners actually care about the details rather than just checking hospitality boxes.
What’s funny is that Vila Kollár – Jedlička manages to feel both relaxed and well-run at the same time – something that’s harder to pull off than you’d think. Check-in was smooth, parking was straightforward (which, trust me, matters when you’re navigating these mountain roads with luggage), and there’s this subtle attention to cleanliness and maintenance that you notice more by its presence than anything flashy. The common areas have this warm, slightly worn-in feeling that makes you want to linger with a book rather than rush out to tick off tourist attractions. I found myself coming back between hikes just to sit in their little lounge area, which says something about a place. For a 4-star spot, it punches above its weight – that 9 rating makes total sense when you factor in the personal touches, the genuine local knowledge, and the fact that you feel like you’re staying somewhere that belongs in the landscape rather than just sitting on top of it.

The holiday appartment was simply perfect.
Very spacious, has everything you need for a very comfortable vacation.
It is also located in a perfect spot to tour the Tatras - everything is close by with maybe an hour drive to the futhest spot.
Just next to the apartment (5 min. drive) is the small town of Stary Smokovec which has everything you need as far as restaurants and supermarkets. only about 10 min. drive is the big city of Popprad which really has everything you need.
All in all the perfect spot for your vacation. We highly recommend it.
The accommodation is decorated and equipped to a very high standard. The ambience is cosy, comfortable and relaxed while still being modern and stylish. The kitchen is completely equipped with high quality cookware, utensils and crockery, plus every appliance you could need for food preparation and cooking. The bathroom is arrayed with all the toiletries you could need, plus a hairdryer. The bedroom is very cosy and comfortable, with plenty of drawer storage. Additionally there is a wardrobe with hanging space and shelving in the hallway directly outside the bedroom. The open plan living, dining and kitchen is a well-proportioned and comfortable relaxing space. The balcony affords beautiful views directly towards the High Tatras mountains. The hosts have thoughtfully and tastefully povided everything you could need for a comfortable and relaxing stay.
Very nice, clean and large apartment that is nicely furnished and everything is really done with the customer in mind... very practical and helpful to make the stay enjoyable. A huge plus was the quality of all the appliances and small but very meaningful additions - some places offer coffee or tea appliances but you need to buy your own....The kitchen in this place was exceptional - multiple and different tastes of coffee, tea, cereals for breakfast, various spices...All the dishes, utensils, entire sets were of high quality.... Bathroom also large and well equipped....toiletries provided. Overall.... excellent place and I am so happy I found it....since I will surely come back !!!

Apartmán je veľmi pekný , čistý , moderne a vkusne zariadený, kuchyňa je plne vybavená so všetkými kuchynskými spotrebičmi + kávovar , čo sme velmi ocenili. Komunikácia s majiteľom je veľmi dobrá, všetky potrebené informácie sme dostali cez Whatsapp. Lokalita tichá, parkovanie zabezpečené. V blizkosti sa nachádza zastávka tatranskej železnice. Celkový dojem veľmi dobrý a určite odporúčam, cítili sme sa ako doma :) určite ešte prídeme.
Velky moderny a velmi dobre zariadeny a vybaveny apartman, minutu od zastavky električky. Vyborna komunikacia s majitelom.
Boli sme veľmi spokojní, apartmán vkusne zariadený, čistý, útulný. Čakala nás fľaša prosecca, večer dobre padla. 🙂 Pohodlná posteľ s kvalitným matracom, tiché prostredie, po celodennej túre úplne ideálne.🙂 Kuchyňa super vybavená, kúpeľňa čistá,tiež pekne zariadená. Posledný deň pršalo, k dispozícii boli mäkučké deky, čo bolo veľmi príjemné. Zaujímavo riešené osvetlenie.
Zastávka električky kúsok od ubytovania. 👍🏻Určite sa tu radi opäť ubytujeme.

Fantasztikus elhelyezkedés! Az ablakon kinézve gyönyörű kilátás nyílik a Tátrára. A berendezés szép és kényelmes, semmi nem hiányzott az ott tartózkodásunk alatt. A háztól pár lépésre vonat visz fel a túraútvonalakhoz, és autóval is könnyen elérhetőek. A tulajdonos az alap felszereltségen túl csupa apró figyelmességgel kedveskedett a gyerekeknek és a felnőtteknek is.
