The moment I walked into Leśny Dom 18A, I actually felt like I was staying at someone’s well-appointed mountain home rather than just another rental. The apartment sits right on Przemysłowa street in Karpacz, and honestly – the location is pretty brilliant if you know the area. You’re close enough to hear the gentle hum of the town waking up in the morning, but far enough from the main tourist drag that you won’t be dealing with crowds stumbling past your windows at midnight.

The apartment itself has this lovely lived-in quality that I really appreciated. I mean, everything’s clean and well-maintained, but it doesn’t have that sterile hotel feel where you’re afraid to actually use anything. The kitchen actually has proper knives (travel tip: most vacation rentals don’t), and there’s this cozy reading nook by the window where you can watch the morning light filter through the trees. Speaking of trees – the “Leśny” part of the name isn’t just marketing fluff. You’re genuinely surrounded by forest, which means the air smells incredible and the sound of wind through pine branches becomes this constant, soothing background soundtrack. Just be prepared for it to get properly dark at night; bring a flashlight if you’re planning any evening walks.

What really sold me on this spot was the attention to small details that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days. The shower has excellent water pressure – seriously, after a day hiking in the Karkonosze, that’s not a small thing. There’s enough storage space that you can actually unpack instead of living out of a suitcase, and the Wi-Fi is solid enough for video calls if you need to check in with work or family. The check-in process was refreshingly straightforward too; none of that awkward key-hunting or confusing building navigation you sometimes get with apartment rentals. Parking is right there, which anyone who’s driven through Karpacz during peak season will tell you is worth its weight in gold. I visited in early autumn when the tourist rush had died down a bit, and honestly, that felt like perfect timing – you get all the mountain beauty without fighting for hiking trail space or restaurant tables.
