It’s more about comfort than flash, which worked perfectly for me since I was spending most daylight hours hiking anyway. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night – Karpacz can get pretty touristy during peak season, but this spot manages to feel removed from all that chaos without being inconveniently far from everything.

Here’s what I mean about location though – you’re literally a ten-minute walk from the main drag with all the restaurants and that tourist train thing, but you’re also positioned where you can just head straight up into the trails if you’re the early-morning-hike type. I actually watched people from other hotels having to trek all the way through town center just to reach the same trailheads I could access in five minutes. The parking situation is refreshingly straightforward too, which anyone who’s driven around Karpacz on a summer weekend will appreciate. Look, with a 7-rating it’s not going to be the fanciest place you’ve ever stayed, and the breakfast setup is pretty basic – but sometimes you just want a solid, unpretentious base camp for exploring the Sudetes without paying resort prices. The value proposition makes sense, especially if you’re planning to spend your time outdoors rather than lounging around the hotel. Plus, there’s something to be said for places that focus on doing the fundamentals well rather than trying to be everything to everyone.
