VacationClub – Apartamenty Zakopiańskie Apartament 133
You know what struck me first about this place? It’s actually tucked away on Szymony street in a way that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something the tour groups haven’t figured out yet. VacationClub’s Apartament 133 sits in this sweet spot where you’re close enough to hear the distant buzz of Krupówki when the wind’s right, but far enough that you won’t be dealing with drunk tourists stumbling past your window at 2 AM.
The apartment itself is honestly better than most hotel rooms I’ve stayed in around Zakopane – and I mean that. There’s this lived-in quality that doesn’t feel fake or overly staged, like someone actually thought about what you’d need for more than just one night. The kitchen’s properly equipped (not just a sad mini-fridge situation), which is clutch if you want to grab fresh oscypek and bread from the morning market instead of paying restaurant prices for everything. The whole setup feels more like borrowing a friend’s place than staying in some corporate box. What really sold me though was stepping out onto that little balcony area in the morning – you get these glimpses of the Tatras between the buildings that just… well, they remind you why people have been coming to this valley for generations.
Parking’s actually sorted here, which anyone who’s driven around Zakopane’s old town will appreciate. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward too – none of that awkward hanging around a lobby wondering if your key cards work. I’ll be honest, the building itself isn’t going to win any architecture awards, but there’s something to be said for staying somewhere that prioritizes function over Instagram appeal. The walls are solid enough that I never heard neighbors, and the heating works properly (crucial if you’re visiting outside peak summer). Location-wise, you’re maybe a 15-minute walk to the main pedestrian area, but it’s a pleasant walk through actual residential streets where you see how locals live. Plus, you’re positioned well for heading up toward Gubałówka or catching transport to the hiking trails without having to navigate through the tourist chaos first. The 9 rating makes total sense – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it delivers exactly what you’d want from a proper base camp in Zakopane.
