Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Urban Studio on Bulevardul Dacia – I mean, self check-in places can be hit or miss, right? But this spot actually surprised me in the best way possible. The building sits right on one of Hunedoara’s main arteries, which sounds like it might be noisy, but the rooms are surprisingly well-insulated. You’ll hear the occasional car, but it’s more like gentle city hum than traffic chaos.

The self check-in thing is actually pretty slick once you get the hang of it. They send you all the codes and instructions beforehand, and honestly, it’s kind of nice not having to make small talk when you’re tired from traveling. The studio itself feels modern without being sterile – you know what I mean? Clean lines, decent furniture that doesn’t look like it came from a hotel catalog, and the bed is genuinely comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses). What really got me was the attention to small details – proper blackout curtains, enough electrical outlets where you actually need them, and a kitchenette that’s not just for show. The coffee machine works, the mini-fridge actually gets cold, and there’s real counter space to spread out your stuff.

Location-wise, you’re about a ten-minute walk from the old town center, which puts you close enough to wander over for dinner but far enough to avoid the weekend crowds. There’s a decent grocery store just down the street – I think it’s a Kaufland – so you can actually use that kitchenette if you want to save some money or just prefer eating in. Parking was easier than I expected too; there’s usually street parking available, and the neighborhood feels safe enough to walk around at night. The 9.8 rating makes sense once you stay here – it’s not trying to be fancy, but everything just works the way it should. I’d definitely book it again, especially if you’re the type who values your privacy and doesn’t need someone asking how your day was every time you walk through the lobby.
