Троянда Карпат turned out to be a real gem in the village of Karpaty — a place I’d never even heard of before this trip. This four-star hotel is located right in the heart of the mountain village, and from my room window I had an incredible view of the forested slopes. The staff here is very welcoming (the hostess even treated me to homemade tincture during check-in), and the check-in process itself took only a few minutes. Parking is free and right at the entrance — a big plus when you’re carrying a trunk full of hiking gear.
The rooms are very cozy, with wooden furniture in Hutsul style and modern amenities. The bed is comfortable, though the shower could be more powerful, but these are minor details. In the morning the hotel offers breakfast with local products — I especially recommend trying the homemade cheese and mountain honey. WiFi works stably even in such a remote location, which was a pleasant surprise. The only thing to keep in mind — evenings can be quite quiet (if you’re used to city hustle and bustle), but for me it was perfect after day hikes in the mountains.
The hotel operates year-round, and the hosts told me that it’s especially beautiful here in winter — everything around is covered with snow, and there are several ski slopes nearby. In summer, it’s an ideal base for hiking and excursions around the area. By the way, you can order a packed breakfast at the hotel if you’re planning to set out early on a trail. Overall, Troianda Karpat is the kind of place you want to return to, especially when you need to take a break from city rush and enjoy the authentic Carpathian atmosphere.
