Overview
You know what struck me first about The Good House in Hărman? It’s that perfect sweet spot where you feel like you’ve discovered something special without having to rough it. I mean, when you’re driving down Strada Mihai Viteazul – and honestly, don’t stress about pronouncing it right, the locals are super patient – you almost wonder if you’ve gone too far because it feels more residential than touristy. That’s actually the point though.
The place sits in this quiet corner of Hărman that most people zip past on their way to Brașov, but here’s the thing about staying here instead of in the main city: you get that authentic Romanian small-town vibe without sacrificing comfort. The owners clearly put thought into every detail – I’m talking about real wood furnishings that don’t feel like they came from a catalog, and these gorgeous traditional textiles that actually complement the space rather than screaming “look how local we are!” The rooms have this lived-in elegance, if that makes sense. Thick walls too, which you’ll appreciate because Romanian celebrations can get… enthusiastic (in the best way).
What really won me over was how the staff treated the place like their own home. Check-in felt more like being welcomed by friends than processing through a hotel system. They knew exactly which local restaurants were worth the walk and which hiking trails wouldn’t leave you completely destroyed – crucial intel when you’re dealing with the Carpathian foothills. The breakfast spread leans heavy on local ingredients, and I actually found myself looking forward to it each morning rather than just fueling up. Parking is straightforward, which matters more than you’d think when you’re navigating narrow European streets with a rental car. The whole area gets pretty quiet after sunset, so if you’re someone who needs city buzz at all hours, this might feel too sleepy. But if you want to hear actual birds in the morning and see stars at night while still having solid WiFi and a proper shower – well, that’s exactly what you get here. Plus, that 9.7 rating isn’t just people being nice; it’s earned.

The house is awesome.
The owners are nice and helpful.
Felt like home, will come back for sure!
Beautiful, large and green property. Ample space with grass where children can play barefoot. Superclean allround. Everything furnished in good taste. Large common areas, good breakfast. Great size room with AC. Wonderful hosts, hard working people and very accommodating. There is off-street parking which can accomodate some 6 vehicles. Also plenty to do in and around Harman. A great stay for us.
This is our second time to this house and we felt just like home. The yard is nicely arranged and there's plenty of space. If you feel crowded you can go in the orchard, grab an apple and be by yourself. The breakfast is great and Bibicu and Ms Maria are lovely hosts. Our daughter played with their dogs, Bruno and Bella, and ate apples right from the three. The room was clean and nicely decorated.
I booked a room at The Good House - Harman for my parents during the Teutonic Festival. They really liked the accommodation: the rooms, the location and the breakfast. The hosts were also very nice and helpful, offering directions about the area.
My recent stay at a charming hotel in Harman, Romania, was nothing short of delightful. It was one of the most cozy and comfortable places I've ever experienced, making it well worth the 17-hour flight from Seoul.
Comfort & Ambience:
The hotel exudes a warm and inviting atmosphere that instantly makes you feel at home. Everything is brand new, so the rooms and facilities are immaculately clean and neat. Despite the modernity, the ambience remains incredibly cozy, with thoughtful touches that add to the overall charm.
Garden & Farm:
The highlight of our stay was the beautiful garden and farm on the hotel grounds. It was the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a picnic in the afternoon, surrounded by nature. My son especially loved playing catch in the garden with Bruno and Bella, the hotel’s friendly dogs, which added a joyful and playful element to our stay.
Host Family:
What truly set this hotel apart was the hospitality of the host family. They were absolutely adorable, treating us like part of their own family. Each day, they generously shared their homemade desserts and liquor, giving us a taste of their culture and warmth. They also shared the story of the hotel, which made our experience feel even more personal and special. It was like having an aunt and uncle in Romania!
Breakfast:
Breakfast was a delightful experience, offering a variety of traditional Romanian country cuisine. It was more than enough to start our day, and the flavors were a wonderful introduction to the local food culture.
In conclusion, this hotel in Harman is a true gem. The combination of cozy comfort, beautiful surroundings, and the warm hospitality of the host family made our stay unforgettable. Despite the long journey from Seoul, I would happily visit again—it was that special!
Very nice garden and room
A very comfortable and nice place, super clean. A lot of space in the house and in the garden. The hosts are amazing, they spoiled us with home made sweets. The best place.
Amazing everything, splendid!!
An amazing place to stay when traveling in Brasov area. It's a family business, and the hosting family is adorable!!! They spoiled us with home made treats, alcohol and food. Staying in the compound garden in the morning and every evening was so fun and relaxing. The kids loved the sooooo cute dogs that live in the property. They are very friendly and playful. Breakfast is very tasty, and each day there are different local and home made treats.
Very recommended. We LOVED it! Can't wait to come back.
