Big windows facing the Tatras – and you know what, the view actually lives up to the name. On clear mornings, you can see Giewont and the whole ridge line while having your coffee.

Decent Wi-Fi (crucial if you’re working remotely like half the people in Zakopane these days), a proper kitchen if you want to grab groceries from the Biedronka down the hill instead of eating out every meal, and – this might sound weird but hear me out – really good water pressure in the shower. After a day of hiking, that matters more than fancy marble everywhere. The staff speaks English well enough, though brushing up on basic Polish phrases doesn’t hurt. Parking’s included, which saves you the headache of hunting for spots during peak season when the town’s absolutely packed. I visited in September, so it was past the crazy summer rush but before the ski crowds show up, and the whole area felt perfectly relaxed. The 9-point-something rating isn’t just inflated reviews either – this place genuinely gets the balance right between being comfortable without feeling stuffy or overpriced for what you get.
