Szafranowe Wzgórze III-Dom z parkingiem, Sauna, zew Jacuzzi
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw the name “Szafranowe Wzgórze III” I thought I was in for some generic Polish vacation rental, but this place actually surprised me. It’s tucked away on Ogrodnicza street in Karpacz, and you know what? That’s exactly where you want to be. You’re close enough to hear the mountain trails calling (literally – the Sudetes are right there), but far enough from the main tourist strip that you won’t have drunk hikers stumbling past your window at 2 AM.
The house itself feels like someone’s well-off cousin decided to rent out their mountain retreat – and I mean that in the best way possible. The parking situation alone is worth mentioning because, honestly, finding a decent spot in Karpacz during peak season is usually a nightmare. Here? You just pull up and you’re done. The sauna is properly hot (not one of those lukewarm disappointments you sometimes get), and that outdoor jacuzzi… well, let’s just say soaking in hot water while looking at snow-capped peaks hits differently than your average hotel amenities. I actually used it more than I expected, even in shoulder season when the air was pretty crisp.
What really got me was the attention to practical stuff – the kind of details that make you think the owners actually stay here themselves. The kitchen has proper knives, the shower pressure doesn’t make you want to cry, and there’s enough space that you’re not constantly bumping into your travel companions. The whole saffron hill (that’s what “szafranowe wzgórze” means, by the way) area is surprisingly quiet, which is perfect if you’re planning to tackle the Śnieżka trail early and need actual sleep. The 8.5 rating makes sense once you spend a night here – it’s not trying to be some fancy resort, but it nails the mountain house vibe without the usual compromises. Plus, and this might sound weird, but the place actually smells good – like pine and cleanliness, not that stale rental property smell you sometimes get. If you’re looking for a base camp for exploring the Karkonosze mountains that doesn’t feel like you’re roughing it, this is your spot.
You'll need to let the property know in advance what time you'll arrive.
