I mean, when you’re staying right in Štrbské Pleso, you’re basically parked at one of Slovakia’s most stunning alpine lakes, and these guys managed to snag a spot where you can actually see the High Tatras from your window without craning your neck.

The building sits on Szentiványho street, which sounds intimidating but it’s actually just a quiet residential road that winds up from the main lake area. What I loved about this location is that you’re close enough to walk down to Štrbské Pleso lake in about five minutes (great for those early morning photo sessions when the mist is still rolling off the water), but far enough up the hill that you escape most of the tourist crowds that can get pretty intense during ski season and summer hiking months. The apartments themselves feel properly private – I barely saw other guests during my stay, which was refreshing after dealing with crowded hotel lobbies elsewhere in the Tatras.

The mountain views aren’t just marketing fluff either. From the windows, you’re looking straight at Kriváň and the surrounding peaks, and if you time it right – early morning or late afternoon – the light hitting those ridges is absolutely spectacular. The apartments are well-equipped too, which matters when you’re planning longer stays or want to cook some meals instead of eating out every night (restaurants around Štrbské Pleso can get pricey, especially during peak season). I appreciated having a proper kitchen because after long days hiking trails like the one up to Popradské pleso, sometimes you just want to make something simple and crash on the couch.

Parking was straightforward, which is actually a big deal here since finding spots near the lake can be a nightmare during busy periods. The check-in process was smooth – the owners clearly know what they’re doing and seem to genuinely care about the property. The 9-rating makes sense when you consider the combination of location, views, and the fact that everything just works without drama. It’s not flashy or over-designed, just solid, comfortable apartments where you can base yourself for exploring this incredible part of Slovakia. Perfect if you’re planning to tackle some of the more serious hiking trails in the area, or if you just want to wake up to mountain views without the crowds of the bigger hotels down by the lake.
