Smerekova Hata turned out to be a real gem in Mizhhirʼʼya — a three-star hotel that surprised us with its coziness and authentic Transcarpathian atmosphere. Located on Turyantsi Street, it’s a bit away from the center (about 7 minutes on foot), but that’s actually better — we slept more peacefully, especially after noisy Kyiv. Parking is right by the hotel, which is very convenient if you’re traveling by car on the region’s mountain roads.
Check-in went smoothly, the staff is friendly and always ready to suggest routes to the nearest waterfalls or where to get the best local trout. The rooms look modest, but everything necessary is there — clean, warm, Wi-Fi works fine. We especially liked the mountain view from the window (if you’re lucky with a room on the right side). Breakfasts are homemade, though not very diverse — scrambled eggs, cheese, sausage, but delicious bread and homemade jam compensate for the modest selection.
In winter it’s especially cozy here — the fireplace in the lobby creates a real mountain atmosphere, and in summer you can enjoy the terrace overlooking the forests. The 8.0 rating is well deserved: Smerekova Hata doesn’t pretend to be luxurious, but gives you the feeling of a real Carpathian getaway without unnecessary expenses. Perfect place for those looking for a base for hiking or just wanting to disconnect from city hustle.
