Silence is a real gem in the mountains that I discovered last summer during my trip through the Carpathians. The hotel is located on Tarasa Shevchenka Street in Mykulychyn, and the name completely lives up to itself — there’s indeed a pleasant quiet here, especially in the evenings when you can only hear the sound of the mountain river nearby. This is a four-star hotel that doesn’t try to impress with luxury, but does everything for guest comfort. Parking is free (which isn’t always a given in the mountains), and there are always enough spots — I’ve been here both in July and autumn.
The rooms here are cozy, with wooden decorative elements that add that authentic Carpathian character. My room had a wonderful forest view, but if you end up on the road side — it might be a bit noisy in the morning when locals drive to work. The staff is friendly, though sometimes you have to wait a bit at reception — the hotel is small, so there aren’t many employees. Breakfasts are tasty, I especially liked the homemade syrniki and Hutsul brynza cheese (probably local). WiFi works reliably, which is important if, like me, you sometimes need to work even on vacation.
What I particularly liked is the location. It’s about 15 minutes to Bukovel, even less to Probiy waterfall. In winter, they say, skiers come here because it’s convenient to get to the lifts. I’m planning to return during the winter season — curious to see how everything looks here in the snow. For the price-quality ratio, the hotel is quite satisfying, especially if you don’t expect five-star luxury but are just looking for a good place to relax in the mountains.
Bukovel hotels range from luxurious mountain resorts to cozy lodges with breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks and alpine meadows.
