Shanti House turned out to be a real discovery during our trip to the Carpathians! This four-star hotel is located in the small village of Migovo, and although I was initially worried it might be too remote, it actually proved to be a huge advantage — the silence here is incredible, especially after Kyiv’s hustle and bustle. The hosts greeted us personally (check-in went smoothly even though we arrived late in the evening), and parking right at the entrance is just a lifesaver when you’re carrying lots of stuff for a mountain vacation.
The rooms are quite spacious, though the design is a bit old-fashioned, but everything is clean and functional. I especially loved the terrace with mountain views — morning coffee there tastes somehow special. Wi-Fi works reliably (which is important for work), though the speed isn’t lightning-fast. Breakfasts are homemade with generous portions, and the hostess always asks if everything is tasty — you feel like you’re not in a hotel but visiting relatives. The only thing — walls are a bit thin, so if neighbors are noisy you might hear them, but overall the atmosphere is very peaceful.
The location is perfect for those heading to the mountains: close to main tourist routes, but you don’t hear the constant rumble of tour buses. It’s particularly beautiful here in spring when everything blooms, though autumn is charming too — golden leaves all around create a fairy-tale atmosphere. For this price and with an 8.0 rating — it’s really good value for money. We’re already planning to return next year, maybe for a longer stay.
