Серце Карпат

Серце Карпат turned out to be a real gem in Yasinya — I didn’t even expect this level of service from a four-star hotel in a mountain town. Located on Borkanyuka Street, it’s very conveniently situated for those coming to explore the Carpathians or just wanting to escape city hustle. Parking is free (which is rare during peak season), and I easily found a spot even arriving in the evening. Check-in was quick — staff speaks Ukrainian, Romanian, and English, which really helped my foreign friends.

The rooms are truly impressive — everything new, clean, with views of either the mountains or the inner courtyard. I had a standard double, but there was enough space even for all our hiking gear after our trips. Wi-Fi works reliably (tested it with work emails), hot water is constant, and the AC was a lifesaver in summer. The only thing — walls aren’t super thick, so if neighbors are active, you might hear conversations, but that’s more of an exception. The restaurant cooks very well, especially local dishes — the banosh is simply incredible, and the trout is fresh (probably from local streams).

What I liked most was the atmosphere. The hotel is small, cozy, without that “assembly line” feeling. The owners clearly put their heart into this place — you can see it in the interior details, in how well-maintained the grounds are, even in how they select their staff. It’s about 15 minutes walk to the lifts (great for morning warm-up), and 10 minutes to Yasinya center. In winter it’s especially magical with snow on the pine trees, and in summer the mountain coolness provides excellent relief from the heat. I’d definitely return — and I’m already planning my next trip here with family.
