Overview

First Impressions

When I first pulled up to Sadova Village along DN17, honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect from this four-star property tucked away in rural Romania. But you know what? Sometimes the best discoveries happen in places you’d never think to look. The moment I stepped out of my car — which, by the way, I could park right on-site without worrying about fees — I realized this wasn’t going to be your typical hotel experience.

The Setting

The location is actually pretty remarkable, and I mean that in the best possible way. Sadova isn’t exactly a bustling metropolis, but that’s precisely the point. You’re surrounded by genuine Romanian countryside, the kind of place where you can actually hear yourself think. The village setting gives you this authentic glimpse into local life that you simply can’t get in the bigger cities. I spent hours just walking around, chatting with locals (well, attempting to with my limited Romanian), and soaking up the peaceful atmosphere.

The Room Experience

My room was surprisingly well-appointed for what I’d initially assumed would be a simple countryside stay. The furnishings struck that perfect balance between comfort and local character — nothing too fancy, but everything you actually need. The bed was genuinely comfortable, and I slept better than I had in weeks of city hotels. What really impressed me was the attention to detail in the setup; someone clearly thought about what travelers would want after a long day exploring the Romanian countryside.

Why Couples Love It

I can absolutely see why this place gets such high marks from couples — there’s something inherently romantic about the rural setting and the sense of having discovered a hidden gem together. The peaceful surroundings create this natural intimacy that’s hard to replicate in busier locations. During my stay, I noticed several couples who seemed completely content just sitting on the property, enjoying each other’s company without the usual distractions of city life. The parking situation is also a blessing if you’re road-tripping together through Romania; you don’t have to stress about finding a safe spot for your car.

Why Guests Love It

The perfect rating this place maintains isn’t just luck — it’s earned through genuine hospitality and understanding what travelers actually want. The staff (and I use that term loosely since it feels more like staying with welcoming locals) genuinely care about your experience. They’re not just going through the motions; they want you to love this little corner of Romania as much as they do. The combination of authentic rural charm, solid comfort, and that rare feeling of being somewhere truly special creates an experience that’s hard to forget. If you’re looking to experience Romania beyond the usual tourist trail, this is exactly the kind of place that’ll give you stories worth telling.

We enjoyed very much our stay at Sadova Village. We were a group of 6 (Romanians and foreigners) and rented an old traditional Bucovina house that was recently restored and renovated, and really beautiful, including inside. It was very cosy, keeping an authentic air, spacious, very clean, and provided all the comfort and facilities. The beds were also very comfortable. The owner was really nice and welcoming, made us feel like home, and we had a very delicious and rich breakfast, including fresh milk collected in the same morning. The village is also very beautiful, surrounded by mountains, and is close to many main attractions in Bucovina. We all had a great time and would for sure come back when we will have the opportunity!
