Садиба Уляна became a real discovery during my trip to Skhidnitsa last autumn. This cozy three-star hotel is located right on Taras Shevchenko Street, and while the address sounds quite central, it’s actually in a quiet part of town — no noise from traffic or nighttime partying. Parking is free (which is rare for resort places), and there’s always enough space, even during high season. Check-in went smoothly, though reception doesn’t operate 24/7 — better to give advance notice about late arrival.
The rooms are truly homey, with wooden furniture and soft carpets that create the atmosphere of a genuine Ukrainian homestead. My room faced the internal courtyard with apple trees (particularly picturesque in autumn), not the road — a big plus for peaceful sleep. The plumbing is a bit dated but works without complaints, hot water is always available. Wi-Fi works well only on the first floor, weakly on the second — but for a vacation that’s actually better. Breakfasts are homemade with local products — I especially recommend trying their cottage cheese pancakes and mountain honey.
The staff is very friendly and always ready to recommend the best routes to the pump room or springs. It’s about fifteen minutes’ leisurely walk to downtown Skhidnitsa, and even less to the main mineral springs. In winter it can be chilly in the rooms (heating works, but the building is old), so it’s better to visit from May through October. For the money and comfort level — quite a decent option for a family vacation or romantic weekend.
You'll need to let the property know in advance what time you'll arrive.
