Садиба Свидюків

Садиба Свидюків turned out to be a real gem in Novyi Mizun’ village — a place I would never have discovered without recommendations from local friends. This four-star hotel feels more like a cozy family homestead than a typical commercial establishment. The owners actually live here and treat guests like family — the Svydyuks welcomed us personally, helped with our luggage, and immediately told us about the most interesting spots in the area. Parking is free right by the entrance (which is rare for such locations), and check-in went smoothly even though we arrived earlier than the standard time.

The rooms are genuinely homey — handcrafted wooden furniture, embroidered towels, clay pottery on the shelves. My room overlooked the inner courtyard with fruit trees, and in the morning I was awakened not by cars, but by birdsong. Wi-Fi works reliably (checked several times — speed is sufficient even for video calls), hot water is available constantly, and the heating in winter is genuinely warm. One downside — the walls are a bit thin, so if neighbors are noisy, you can hear conversations. But overall the atmosphere is very peaceful, especially in the evening when stars light up over the homestead.

Breakfasts are served in the common dining room with large windows — homemade syrniki, fresh sour cream from local cows, their own honey, and vegetables from the garden. The Svydyuks gladly share stories about the village and recommend routes for walks in the surrounding area. It’s especially beautiful here in spring (I was there in May), but I think autumn would be wonderful too with all these apple and pear trees. It’s about a fifteen-minute walk to the nearest store, but the owners can give you a ride to Novyi Mizun’ village if you need to buy something. I’ll definitely return — there are fewer and fewer such authentic places left.
