Садиба під Гострою turned out to be a real gem during our trip to Transcarpathia — a three-star guesthouse that charms with its authentic atmosphere and the hosts’ hospitality. Located in the village of Pashkovtsy near Zhdenievo, it’s surrounded by picturesque hills and vineyards, creating the perfect backdrop for escaping city hustle. The road here winds a bit through narrow village streets, but GPS got us there without problems, and the hosts sent detailed directions in advance.
The rooms are done in traditional Transcarpathian style — wooden furniture, handmade rugs, and wonderful views from the windows of the surrounding mountains. We were pleasantly surprised by the attention to detail: fresh towels daily, a miniature bottle of homemade spirits as a welcome gift (classic!), and even a small terrace by each room. Wi-Fi works reliably, which is important for those who can’t completely disconnect from work. Parking is free right on the property — you just leave your car under the apple trees near the main house.
Breakfast here is a story unto itself. The hostess cooks everything herself: homemade bread, cheese, scrambled eggs with farm eggs, and always banosh with brynza cheese. Everything is so delicious that we asked for recipes (which they happily shared, by the way). In the evenings you can sit by the fireplace or on the veranda with a glass of local wine — the atmosphere is incredibly cozy. One thing though: if you’re coming in winter, bring warm clothes for walks, because the heating in the rooms sometimes struggles a bit with Transcarpathian frosts, though this adds authenticity rather than spoiling the impression.
Bukovel hotels range from luxurious mountain resorts to cozy lodges with breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks and alpine meadows.
