But then I stepped into apartment 5c/10 and immediately understood why this place has that killer 9.3 rating. The view of Śnieżka peak literally made me stop mid-conversation with my travel buddy. I mean, you’re basically staring at the Czech Republic’s highest mountain from your window, and it changes completely throughout the day – misty and mysterious in the morning, then this dramatic silhouette at sunset.

What really got me though was how the owner clearly knows what actual travelers need. The kitchen wasn’t just some token setup with a mini-fridge and hot plate – it’s properly equipped, which saved us a fortune since Karpacz restaurants can get pricey during peak season. The place stays surprisingly quiet too, even though you’re literally a ten-minute walk from all the cable car madness and tourist crowds around the Wang Temple area. I actually slept better here than at some fancy hotels because the windows are solid (probably necessary given those mountain winds) and the neighborhood settles down nicely after the day-trippers head back down the mountain.

Here’s the thing about staying on Kąpielowa street that most people don’t realize – you’re positioned perfectly for both the main attractions and the quieter hiking trails that locals use. Sure, you’ll hear some early morning activity from people gearing up for Śnieżka hikes, but honestly, it just adds to that mountain town atmosphere. The parking situation is way better than what you’ll find closer to the center, and after dealing with the chaos around the main tourist strip, coming back to this peaceful residential pocket feels like you’ve got your own little retreat. Plus – and this might sound weird – but there’s something about waking up to that mountain view that makes you want to actually get out and explore instead of just lounging around. I ended up hiking more than I planned just because Śnieżka was right there, practically daring me to come closer every morning.
