Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of places in Karpacz over the years, but RentPlanet – Orlik Residence on Strażacka Street really caught me off guard in the best way possible. You know how sometimes you book a place and just hope it doesn’t disappoint? Well, this one actually exceeded expectations – and honestly, that 8.4 rating makes total sense once you’re there.
The thing about Strażacka 8 is that it sits in this sweet spot where you’re close enough to everything that matters but far enough from the main tourist chaos that you can actually sleep at night. I mean, you’re literally a few minutes’ walk from the gondola station, but you won’t have drunk tourists stumbling past your window at 2 AM. The building itself has this modern apartment vibe – nothing fancy or pretentious, just clean lines and everything works like it should. The apartments are surprisingly spacious (I stayed in what I think was a two-bedroom), and you get a proper kitchen, which honestly saved me a fortune since eating out in Karpacz every meal can get pricey fast.
What really impressed me was the attention to practical stuff that most places ignore. The Wi-Fi actually works throughout the entire unit – not just in one corner of the living room. There’s decent parking (huge plus if you’re driving up from Wrocław like I was), and the whole check-in process was refreshingly straightforward. The host clearly knows what they’re doing and doesn’t waste your time with unnecessary drama. You know what really sealed it for me though? The view from the balcony. It’s not some Instagram-perfect mountain panorama, but you get these glimpses of the surrounding hills through the trees, especially nice in the morning with coffee. Plus, the building’s orientation means you’re not getting blasted by afternoon sun in summer – small detail, but it matters when you’re trying to cool down after a day of hiking.
The location works really well if you’re planning to explore beyond just Karpacz itself. Szklarska Poręba is an easy drive if you want to mix things up, and you’re positioned perfectly for hitting some of the better hiking trails without having to navigate through the town center every time. Winter’s obviously the busy season here, but I actually preferred my spring visit – everything’s cheaper, the trails are accessible, and you don’t have to fight crowds for decent restaurant reservations. One small thing to keep in mind: it’s an apartment-style setup, so don’t expect daily housekeeping or a concierge desk, but honestly, that’s part of what keeps the prices reasonable and the atmosphere relaxed. If you’re looking for something that feels more like staying at a friend’s well-appointed place rather than a generic hotel room, this is definitely worth booking.

Apartament, jak i cały obiekt - nowy, świeży i pachnący. Na terenie trwają jeszcze prace wykończeniowe, aczkolwiek nie uciążliwe. Lokalizacja z dala od centrum, blisko szlaków turystycznych. Cicho i spokojnie. Sam apartament bardzo ładnie urządzony i dobrze wyposażony.
