Райський куточок turned out to be a real gem in the heart of the Carpathians! When I arrived in Verkhovyna last September, I was initially a bit skeptical because of the name — sounds pretty pompous, doesn’t it? But from the very first moments I understood that this is truly a special place. This four-star hotel is located right on Bohdan Khmelnytsky Street, literally just a few minutes’ walk from the town center, where you’ll find all the necessary shops and cafes. Parking is free — a big advantage, because having a car here makes it very convenient to reach all the tourist routes.
The rooms are beautifully equipped, with lovely wooden furniture in Carpathian style — not that Chinese knockoff stuff you often encounter in other places, but genuine quality wood. Hot water is available constantly, which isn’t always guaranteed in mountain hotels. Wi-Fi works even on the upper floors, though it sometimes slows down (but that’s more of a regional issue). Breakfasts are hearty and delicious — homemade cheeses, fresh bread, Hutsul sausages. The staff is very friendly and always ready to recommend the best hiking routes or where to eat authentic banosh.
I especially liked the location — quiet at night, but at the same time close to everything you need. In autumn the views are simply incredible, and in winter, they say, there are great conditions for skiers (haven’t tried it myself yet, but planning to return). The only downside — sometimes you can hear neighbors talking, the soundproofing could be better. Overall, I highly recommend it, especially for this price — Райський куточок really lives up to its name!
