Rakhiv House turned out to be a pleasant surprise during our trip to the Carpathians last autumn. This four-star hotel is located on the quiet Haharina Street, yet close enough to the center of Rakhiv — about a ten-minute leisurely walk to the main square. Parking is free (which isn’t always obvious in the mountains), and we had no trouble leaving our car on their premises. Check-in was quick, the staff is friendly and speaks several languages, which is convenient for tourists.
The rooms are quite spacious, with nice mountain views — especially if you get the upper floors with south-facing windows. The furniture is a bit dated, but everything is clean and functional. The bathroom is small, but the shower has good water pressure, which is very important after a full day of hiking in the mountains. WiFi works reliably even on the third floor. The only thing that might be slightly bothersome is noise from neighboring rooms early in the morning (the walls aren’t very thick), but that’s more of a characteristic of old buildings in this part of Ukraine.
Breakfast is served until 10:30, and although the selection isn’t huge, everything is fresh and tasty — especially the local cheeses and homemade jams. The hotel has a small terrace where it’s nice to sit in the evening with a cup of tea and plan routes for the next day. Overall, Rakhiv House is a good option for those looking for a clean, cozy place without excessive pretensions. The price matches the quality quite well, and we would return here again during our next trip to this region.
