The breakfast situation is where this place really shines though. Elżbieta makes these incredible homemade preserves (the plum one is ridiculous), and there’s always fresh bread that I’m pretty sure comes from somewhere local. I actually found myself looking forward to breakfast more than dinner most days. The dining area has these big windows that look out toward the mountains, and if you’re an early riser like me, watching the morning light hit the peaks while drinking proper Polish coffee is… well, it’s pretty perfect.

Here’s the thing about staying here – you’re getting genuine local insight without paying resort prices. Elżbieta knows every trail worth hiking and which ones to avoid when it’s muddy (trust me on this one). She’ll also tell you exactly which bus to catch to get to Zakopane if you don’t want to deal with parking there, and where to find the best oscypek that isn’t marked up for tourists. The location puts you right in the sweet spot for exploring the Tatra foothills without the crowds you get closer to the main attractions. Sure, it’s not luxury – the WiFi can be spotty, and you might hear the occasional farm dog in the distance – but that 9-star rating isn’t an accident. People come here and actually relax, which is rarer than you’d think. If you’re looking for a base camp for hiking or just want to experience this part of Poland without the tourist circus, this is your spot.
