It’s tucked away on Ściegny street in this quiet residential stretch of Karpacz, but somehow it feels like you’ve stumbled onto something locals have been keeping to themselves. I mean, most people barrel straight toward the main ski lifts or the tourist center, but this place sits in one of those pockets where you actually hear birds in the morning instead of tour buses. The building itself has that solid, no-nonsense Polish mountain lodge feel – not trying too hard to be Instagram-pretty, just genuinely comfortable in its own skin.

What really won me over was how the owners actually seem to get what travelers need. The parking situation is sorted (which, honestly, is half the battle in Karpacz), and they’ve got this relaxed approach to check-in that doesn’t make you feel rushed. The rooms are clean without being sterile – you know that sweet spot where everything works properly but it still feels like a real place where real people live? The beds are properly firm, which your back will thank you for after a day hiking around Śnieżka or dealing with the crowds at Wang Church. And here’s a small thing that matters: the Wi-Fi actually reaches the rooms consistently, unlike some places I’ve stayed where you’re basically camping out in the lobby to get any signal.

The location is honestly perfect if you want to be close to everything but not right in the thick of it. You’re maybe a ten-minute walk from the main drag with all the restaurants and souvenir shops, but far enough up the hill that you’re not dealing with the late-night noise from the bars. Plus – and this is something you only figure out after spending time in the area – you’re positioned really well for getting to both the older Kopa chairlift and the newer Biały Jar area without having to navigate through the worst of the traffic. The 8.9 rating makes total sense when you actually stay there; it’s not trying to be a luxury resort, but it nails all the basics and then some. If you’re looking for a place that feels like good value without cutting corners, and you don’t need a concierge or a spa to feel like you’re on vacation, Pensjonat Palomino just works.
