Parking is easy (just pull up front), and while there aren’t tons of restaurants within walking distance, there are a couple of decent spots the locals frequent, plus the pension can arrange meals if you ask ahead. The 9.5 rating isn’t just random internet enthusiasm – it’s because places like this are getting harder to find, where the hospitality feels genuine and you’re not just another booking number. If you’re road-tripping through this part of Romania or using it as a base for exploring the Iron Gates, you could do a lot worse than Pensiunea Sunshine. Just don’t expect nightlife or fancy spa treatments – this is about river views, good sleep, and remembering why you started traveling in the first place.
