The building itself has that restored medieval thing going on, but honestly, they didn’t go overboard with the rustic tourist trap vibe. It feels more like staying at a really well-appointed friend’s place – you know, if your friend had excellent taste and actually cared about thread count. The rooms are properly soundproofed too, which matters more than you’d think when you’re dealing with cobblestone streets and early morning delivery trucks. What really impressed me was the attention to small stuff – decent water pressure (seriously, this can be hit or miss in old buildings), proper blackout curtains, and they actually have enough outlets for your devices without making you choose between charging your phone and using the bedside lamp.

None of that sad continental buffet nonsense – they do this proper Romanian spread with local cheeses and honey from somewhere nearby, plus they’ll make you eggs however you want them. The dining room looks out onto a little courtyard that catches the morning light just right, and honestly, it’s one of those moments where you remember why you travel in the first place. Staff-wise, they’re the kind of people who remember your name and actually have good recommendations – not just the tourist traps everyone suggests. When I asked about hiking trails, the owner drew me a little map to some ruins about twenty minutes outside town that I never would have found otherwise. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this part of Sibiu, but they’ve got a deal worked out with a lot about three blocks away, and they’ll walk you over on your first night so you don’t spend an hour wandering around with your luggage. The 9.7 rating honestly makes sense – it’s not trying to be some grand luxury experience, but everything they do, they do really well.
