There’s this genuine warmth that you just can’t fake, which probably explains that crazy 9.9 rating. I was skeptical at first (I mean, come on, 9.9?), but after a few days there, I actually got it. The rooms are spotless without feeling sterile, and there’s this perfect balance of being helpful without hovering. Plus, the whole place has this lived-in elegance – like staying at your well-traveled aunt’s house, if your aunt happened to have impeccable taste and a knack for hospitality.

What really won me over, though, was the location itself. You’re literally a five-minute walk from the main pottery studios where they still make those gorgeous Horezu ceramics by hand, and the morning sounds are just perfect – birds, distant church bells, maybe some friendly chatter from the street rather than traffic noise. I actually found myself waking up naturally instead of to an alarm, which never happens to me in cities. The parking situation is refreshingly straightforward too, which anyone who’s driven through Romanian hill towns will appreciate. Look, it’s not fancy in that Instagram-perfect way, but it’s the kind of place where you end up extending your stay because leaving feels premature.
