It’s tucked right on Strada Lungă – which literally means “Long Street” and yeah, it’s aptly named – putting you smack in the middle of Brașov’s Old Town without the tourist trap chaos that hits some of the main squares.

The building itself feels like someone took a traditional Romanian townhouse and gave it a really thoughtful modern makeover. I mean, you’re getting proper apartment-style setups here, not just hotel rooms with a mini-fridge shoved in the corner. The kitchenettes are actually functional – I watched a German couple make a full breakfast spread one morning, and they seemed genuinely happy about the counter space. The whole place has this clean, Scandinavian-meets-Eastern-European vibe that works surprisingly well. What really sold me though was stepping onto the little balcony in my unit and realizing I could see the medieval walls snaking up toward Tampa Hill. You can’t fake that kind of view, and CityHost clearly knows they’ve got something special here.

The location is honestly perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in Brașov rather than just visiting it. You’re a three-minute walk from Council Square (Piața Sfatului) when you want the full tourist experience, but Strada Lungă itself has this lovely residential feel where you’ll see locals heading to work in the morning and kids playing in the narrow street. There’s a small grocery store literally around the corner – the kind where the owner knows everyone’s name – and I found myself grabbing fresh bread there most mornings. The area gets pretty quiet after 9 PM, which some people love and others might find a bit sleepy, but that’s Old Town for you. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle since these medieval streets weren’t exactly designed for cars, but the staff actually helped coordinate a spot for guests in a small lot about two blocks away. That kind of local problem-solving is exactly what you want from a place like this – they’re not just booking you a room, they’re helping you figure out how to actually live comfortably in this beautiful, slightly complicated historic neighborhood.
