Panorama in Kvasy turned out to be a pleasant surprise for a three-star hotel in the Carpathians. When we arrived in autumn, the staff welcomed us very warmly — the guys at reception speak Ukrainian and English, which is rare for such a small town. Parking is free right next to the hotel (big plus if you’re driving), though there aren’t that many spots, so it’s better to arrive before evening. The rooms are clean and tidy, although the furniture is a bit dated — but it’s not critical, the main thing is that everything works. The view from the windows is truly panoramic, as the name promises: the mountains all around are simply breathtaking, especially in the morning with fog.

The food at the hotel restaurant is quite decent — home-style cooking with local dishes, large portions, reasonable prices. You must try the banosh and trout — they cook them deliciously. WiFi works stable in the lobby, it might lag a bit in the rooms, but for a mountain getaway that’s actually good (you can disconnect from the hustle and bustle). Hot water was available without problems, heating also worked normally — important for cold Carpathian evenings. The staff is very responsive: when the handle on our suitcase broke, the guys at reception immediately found tools and helped us fix it.

The location is ideal for hiking in the area — it’s a 15-20 minute walk or 5-minute drive to popular trails. In winter it’s also nice here: there are small slopes nearby for skiing, though it’s more for family vacation than extreme runs. The only downside — the walls are a bit thin, so if neighbors are noisy, you might hear them. But overall for this price and with such service — the hotel is really worth attention. The rating of 8 out of 10 is well deserved, we’ll definitely come back again in spring when everything blooms.
