The chalets are tucked into Szeligówka village (which locals just call “Szeliga” if you want to sound like you know the area), and it’s one of those places where you can hear the Tatra streams running even from your room – assuming you’re not visiting during peak summer when everyone and their cousin is hiking to Morskie Oko.
The premium part of the name isn’t just marketing fluff, either. These aren’t your typical cramped mountain cabins where you’re bumping elbows with strangers. Each chalet feels properly spacious, with those thick wooden beams that actually make you feel like you’re in the mountains, not some generic hotel that happens to be near them. The kitchens are well-equipped too – I mean, you can actually cook a decent meal instead of relying on the sometimes-spotty restaurant hours in Kościelisko proper. Speaking of which, you’re close enough to walk into the village center (maybe 10 minutes if you don’t mind the slight uphill trek back), but far enough that you’re not dealing with the tourist bus noise that can get pretty intense during peak season. The parking situation is straightforward, which honestly matters more than you’d think when you’re hauling ski gear or hiking packs.
What really sold me on this place was the little stuff they get right. The Wi-Fi actually works (crucial when you’re trying to check trail conditions or convince your boss you’re “working remotely”), and the water pressure is solid – not always a given in these mountain spots. The staff seems to know the area well enough to give you real recommendations, not just the obvious tourist traps. They pointed me toward some lesser-known trails that start practically from the property, which was perfect for those early morning hikes before the crowds hit. The whole setup feels like what mountain accommodation should be – comfortable without being fussy, authentic without being rustic to the point of inconvenience. Sure, it’s pricier than some of the pension-style places scattered around Kościelisko, but when you factor in the space, the location, and the fact that you’re not sharing walls with snoring strangers, it’s worth the extra złoty. Plus, being this close to the Tatra National Park entrances means you can be on the trails while everyone else is still fighting for parking spots down in Zakopane.
